Worthington Prep is for students striving for a high score on the SAT.

FAQ

Who is this course for?

WP is for students who are ready to put in the time and commitment to achieve a high score on the SAT. This is not a passive course where students listen to lectures and leave to prepare on their own. There will be meet ups, homework, and daily questions. Intense prep for the score you want.

What is “Whatever it takes”?

I know what this test means to you and your child. I take the time to get to know each student, to understand his/her weaknesses, and to tailor the curriculum, homework, and daily WhatsApp questions to their needs.

What is the meeting schedule?

The 1-on-1 course can be tailored for your needs. If you are taking the test in 2 months, we’ll go through a rigorous course and meet 3 times a week. If you’re taking it in 3 months, we’ll meet twice a week and go at a lighter pace. Small group tutoring can be customized as well if the students are on the same schedule.

In addition to the meet ups, I interact with the students on a daily basis through WhatsApp.

What is TutorTime+?

TutorTime+ on WhatsApp compromises of a back-and-forth interaction with me and each student. We cover questions, concepts, and tips they need to be aware of. I do this because repetition is critical for success. I have seen the positive impact of this in each and every student I have tutored.

Do you tutor online?

Yes, our meetings take place through Zoom. While I enjoy the in-person interaction with students, I have found online tutoring to be much more flexible for everyone. And, in this Covid-19 world, it’s just safer for everyone.

Why so many hours?

Because your child wants a really high score. And because retention requires repetition. The course is 53 hours, including 8 hours of testing. I’m here to make sure your child learns and retains what he/she needs. We will repeat concepts as much as we need to ensure mastery and readiness.

In addition to the meet up hours, there are many hours spent on daily question interactions with your child through WhatsApp.

Why Worthington Prep?

Because your child wants a high score. We will follow a detailed curriculum. During the 53 hour course, we cover every topic multiple times and take 2 practice exams. I meet with students, assign personalized homework, and work with them between meet ups (TutorTime+).

What if I only need SAT Math?

Absolutely. I can certainly break up the curriculum time to focus on just one topic. Contact me directly through the contact page and let’s set up some time to talk through exactly what your child needs to be successful on the SAT.

What is a “high score”?

I throw this question back to you. What is your target number? Every student is different. Some are looking for a 1400. Others are looking for a 1500 to get the scholarships they want or get admission into the school of their choice.

Regardless of your precise target, we’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you are prepared for the exam. If you’re motivated and ready to put in the time, then, together, we can get your target number.
